Q. How quickly can service begin?
A. We typically need 3 days to arrange for service, but we strive to begin as soon as possible with a carefully matched Caregiver.
Q. Does insurance cover the cost of non-medical home care?
A. Only long-term care insurance policies cover our services. Normally, health insurance policies do not cover our services.
Q. Do government programs cover the cost of home care? Medicaid or Medicare?
A. Not at this time. Medicaid and Medicare do not cover non-medical home care services at this time.
Q. What happens when the Caregiver needs time off?
A. We maintain an active registry of qualified Caregivers. We constantly recruit and train new Caregivers and stay in close touch with our current Caregivers. In these ways we are always prepared to assign and orient a relief Caregiver to meet your service needs, as well as be ready to meet the needs of new clients.
Q. Do you offer short term care?
A. Our service is designed and priced to provide care of four weeks or longer. However, we can respond to short-term needs, or provide respite care. We will work with you to develop a program that meets your needs and is consistent with our service offerings.
Q. What if there is a couple living together that both need care services? In other words, if two people need care, is it twice the cost?
A. We will work with you to create individual care plans that address the specific needs of the couple. Our Registered Nurse will assess the level of care required and recommend the appropriate services and fee structure to meet the requirement. There may be an opportunity to share certain services and thus help manage the cost.
Q. Will you provide care five days a week if the family can provide care on the weekends?
A. Yes, absolutely.
Q. Can I interview Caregivers first?
A. We provide an introduction to our Caregiver as part of initiating our service. Our hiring and screening practices and our assessment procedures are designed to ensure a good fit between the client and the Caregiver. Our hiring practices and quality of service are guaranteed.
Q. How do you bill and collect for services?
A. We collect an initial deposit in order to initiate service. The deposit is typically for one month of anticipated services. Actual services are then billed as per the plan of care and signed Client Service Agreement, at the end of each month.
Q. How much do your services cost?
A. The prices for our services vary depending on the level of skill required, the hours and days of service, and the types of services required. We will work with you in our initial consultation, and in our comprehensive in-home needs assessment, to determine the necessary services and costs. Please contact us, to discuss our services and prices.
Q. What if the client has a change in condition that results in a need to interrupt or terminate services?
A. If the interruption in service is temporary, we suspend our services, then resume when conditions warrant. If the interruption in service becomes long-term or permanent, the deposit is applied to any remaining unbilled or unpaid services. If a balance remains, a refund payment is sent within 15 days.
Q. What if the client wants to terminate service for a reason other than change in condition, before the end of the month?
A. You may terminate services at any time. We only require that you give at least four hours notice to cancel a specific shift, otherwise we will bill for a portion of that service. Upon completion of service, we apply the initial deposit to the actual services provided up to the date of termination. If a balance remains, a refund payment is sent within 15 days.
